Adoption Process
Choosing to adopt a pet from the Homeless Pets Foundation means you’re giving a new lease on life to an animal in need, while gaining a loving and loyal companion in return. We make sure every pet you adopt from us has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Best of all, your adoption fee contributes to our ongoing efforts in saving homeless pets. Ready to meet the newest member of your family?
1. Appointment Only
At the Homeless Pets Foundation, we conduct adoptions as appointment only. If you are interested in meeting one of our fur babies, please apply and include the furbaby (or furbabies!) you’re interested in!
Did you find your match?
Now it’s time to complete our adoption application. This involves answering a few questions that help us understand more about you and your family’s lifestyle.
2. Matchmaking
Once you apply we will respond within 24-48 hours with a vet reference check and personal call to understand what you are looking for, we consider ourselves matchmakers! If it seems like a fit we will request a video home visit check.
3. Meet our Furbaby!
We will schedule a meet and greet where you will bring your current household (yes – including any current furry residents in your house – excluding cats). We will meet at our headquarters for Homeless Pets Foundation
4. Make it Official
Our adoption counselor will process your adoption, walk you through all of the necessary paperwork, and ensure that you understand all aspects of the animals needs.
5. Join the Family
We can set up your new pet with Beyond Pets Animal Hospital (our in-house veterinary practice) to keep this furbaby within our family. We look forward to seeing your pet’s happy tail every time you need medical services!
