Congratulation to Cornsilk who generated a lot of interest because of his extreme cuteness but was a bit tricky to place because of his quirks. He was rescued from a hoarder and did NOT have a happy life there. As a result he fears women, children and things that go bump in the night.
Enter Mr. Weems, who is such a nice, patient man. He gave Cornsilk all the time he needed to feel comfortable with him (which turned out to be hardly any time at all!). It’s a match made in rescue heaven! Thanks so much for providing the perfect home!
And a very special thanks to the volunteers who fostered Cornsilk and got him adoption ready – you saved the day!
Dr. Phil Good, owner of Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, received his Bachelor of Science with highest honors in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2006. Phil finally came to his senses, realizing he’d much rather work with animals than in a chemical plant. Dr. Good obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine from UGA in 2011.
Jane came to us in May from a rough rural animal control facility in North Georgia. She was skittish, rail thin and not getting along with other dogs. She found it hard to relax in the shelter and stayed stressed out. A kind person offered to foster Jane until she got adopted so she could…
What does an HPF volunteer choose when her family tells her to pick out a birthday gift herself? To rescue a dog of course! Mary chose our own Tink (who she actually named too, back when he first entered our program – so maybe she knew then he was destined to be hers?) Tink was…
We adopted Buddy from ya’ll back in ’07 and he’s still with us, sort of our “elder statesman.” Thanks for helping my boys fall in love with dogs. Jon has his own dog now, Paisley, named after Brad Paisley, half border collie and half black lab, and Caleb has Duke the Puppy, half German Shepherd and half Siberian…
Someone finally saw Farrah for what she is — a highly adoptable dog stuck in a shelter for no good reason. Thank you so much for giving her a home (and for being repeat adopters from us). We know you will love her as much as we do!
This young woman had her eye on Hershey for a few weeks but was planning a move, so wasn’t quite ready to adopt. She’s finally all settled in to her new place and brought Hershey home. Happy purrs sweet boy!
