Patty was rescued by one of our volunteers just hours before she was scheduled to be euthanized. She was pregnant and delivered her babies just two days after being rescued. Her foster mom was lucky enough to witness the births. It didn’t take long for Parker, Punkin, Paige, and Piper to get adopted once they were old enough to leave. Unfortunately little Punkin was returned, because of his long fur. It took us a long time to find him just the right home, but he is a very happy and BIG boy now! Patty was with us for quite a while after her babies found their homes. She needed a home where she would be the only pet, but her lucky day finally came!
Dr. Phil Good, owner of Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, received his Bachelor of Science with highest honors in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2006. Phil finally came to his senses, realizing he’d much rather work with animals than in a chemical plant. Dr. Good obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine from UGA in 2011.

Kris came into our program Monday night and was adopted in 12 hours without even getting…
A year ago we celebrated the adoption of Lily, who’d been waiting a year for someone to want her. Since she was people-focused and calm, she’d just sit there and look into your face and many potential adopters were intimidated (though Lily was usually thinking, “Do you have a cookie?”) Lily turned out to be…
This couple took a week or so to meet a number of dogs and just didn’t feel that special connection until they met Venice. We think the feeling was mutual and wish you all many happy years together!
While driving to work one day on Wednesday, October, 2010, a Good Samaritan, Erik, passed an apparently dead dog laying in the median of a busy Atlanta, GA highway. When he took one last look at the poor dog in her rear-view mirror, he saw the dog raise its head. The dog was still alive!…
