Jane came to us in May from a rough rural animal control facility in North Georgia. She was skittish, rail thin and not getting along with other dogs. She found it hard to relax in the shelter and stayed stressed out. A kind person offered to foster Jane until she got adopted so she could wait for a home in a calmer environment.
Well, Jane thrived in her foster home and became the dog we hoped she would be! Her foster mom was so impressed she decided Jane didn’t need to look any further for her new home.
We asked Jane’s new mom for a picture to post and she sent so many good ones we decided to post them all. Jane looks like a different dog, relaxed, filled out and hanging out with other canine friends! Loving homes make a world of difference. Thank you SO much for fostering and adopting Jane!
Dr. Phil Good, owner of Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, received his Bachelor of Science with highest honors in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2006. Phil finally came to his senses, realizing he’d much rather work with animals than in a chemical plant. Dr. Good obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine from UGA in 2011.
This young woman had her eye on Hershey for a few weeks but was planning a move, so wasn’t quite ready to adopt. She’s finally all settled in to her new place and brought Hershey home. Happy purrs sweet boy!

Meet 11-year old Jeffrey, a proud adopter! He, his mom and his grandfather decided to adopt and Jeffrey picked the dog and filled out the application himself. A woman named Brooke looking for a Beagle mix meets one named Brooke! It’s meant to be! Brooke and her new mini-me hope to do some hiking together and bring some fresh energy into the home so her aging dog (the fluffy one) can have a new leash on life! Best wishes Brooke and Brooke!…
Long time HPF resident, Stewie (solid black kitty), went into a trial adoption a couple of weeks ago. We’re happy to report that his new mom signed on the dotted line this past Sunday. Stewie is officially part of the family. Happy purrs sweet boy!
