This family, who wasn’t intending to adopt, happened to stop by our adoption event as they passed us to run errands. Daphne, (left) caught their eye and they thought she’d make a good playmate for their retriever (right).
Daphne was supposed to have already been put back in her kennel downstairs and another dog brought up instead because we rotate showing adoptable dogs at our Saturday events. But volunteers had gotten busy and forgotten to take Daphne back. So, we’re chalking this one up to fate!
Thanks to the impromptu stop at HPF and to Daphne staying out longer than planned, this family is now complete! Daphne not only gets this great group as her own but a big yard and pool that she’s looking forward to jumping into come spring.
Dr. Phil Good, owner of Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, received his Bachelor of Science with highest honors in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2006. Phil finally came to his senses, realizing he’d much rather work with animals than in a chemical plant. Dr. Good obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine from UGA in 2011.
This gentleman (with some help from his sis) came by to adopt a friend for himself and his black lab. They chose Tillie as the perfect playmate. This family saw Clara’s picture after we rescued her and knew that she was meant to be a part of their family. They patiently waited for her babies to be born and weaned and for Clara to be spay. Now that Clara is healed and her babies no longer need her, she is heading out…
Weeks ago during a cold snap these little dogs were found in a parking lot inside a tiny cat carrier. We were unsure they’d survive the exposure, the trauma of being abandoned and the change of environment at our shelter. It took lots of patience and TLC to get the 8 year old brother and…
This happy guy sent in an application for Cliff and couldn’t wait for our weekend adoption event, so one of our volunteers met him at Petsmart the next day, so that he could start loving on his new baby.
