We adopted Miss Mae (formerly Bella) from the Homeless Pets Foundation in July 2012. She was only seven weeks old and had been left by herself in a box outside of a Wal-Mart before being turned in to Homeless Pets. Now almost two, Miss Mae is such an important part of our family and we can’t imagine our lives without her. She is the cutest girl and has such a big personality! She loves playing outside in the yard, loves going to doggy daycare and playing with her friends, and snuggles up with us in bed every night. She is great with kids, and we think she will be a wonderful big sister to our first (human) baby in a few weeks! We love her so much! Thank you, Homeless Pets! I have attached pictures of Miss Mae as a little puppy when we first adopted her and with us at our wedding last April. -Sarah Peters
Dr. Phil Good, owner of Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, received his Bachelor of Science with highest honors in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2006. Phil finally came to his senses, realizing he’d much rather work with animals than in a chemical plant. Dr. Good obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine from UGA in 2011.
Junior came our way when his owner dumped him and his “brother” Buford from their car then sped off. The dogs held no grudges so we tried not to too. Junior believes when one door closes (even if you’ve just been tossed out it) another one opens. He’s right since this happy lady, Lora, opened…
From pitiful to pampered in a matter of months. Rosa was rescued from a cruelty case in November. She was skin and bones. Despite everything, she showed she still had trust in humans and would try to crawl in your lap and curl up like a dog a quarter of her size! Craig saw Rosa…
Pepe went home with this nice couple for a trial adoption. It didn’t take long for him to melt their hearts. It’s now official, he is part of the family. Happy purrs sweet boy!
As the Holiday season approached, HPF asked if anyone was willing to foster a cat to free up space and ease the burden on the volunteers. Having been at the Adoption Center numerous times, I had become somewhat attached to Lynn. We agreed to foster her through the Holidays but we failed miserably. Once home,…
What does an HPF volunteer choose when her family tells her to pick out a birthday gift herself? To rescue a dog of course! Mary chose our own Tink (who she actually named too, back when he first entered our program – so maybe she knew then he was destined to be hers?) Tink was…
